Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I buy the Gentech 3kVA generator in South Africa?

You can buy it online at Build It Hillcrest on builditshop.co.za. It is in stock now and delivery is free.

How much does the Gentech 3kVA cost?

It costs R4,990 at Build It Hillcrest. Free delivery is included because the order is over R950.

Do you deliver to my city?

Yes, we do. We deliver to Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, Pretoria, Bloemfontein, Gqeberha and all other areas. Most orders arrive in 2–3 working days.

Is 3kVA big enough for my house?

It is great for the basics. It runs lights, a TV, Wi-Fi, chargers and an energy-saving fridge. It will not run a geyser, stove, kettle or aircon.

Is it safe for my TV and laptop?

Yes, for normal home use. We suggest you plug sensitive electronics into a surge-protector plug. This gives them extra protection.

Can I run it inside my house or garage?

No, never run it indoors. Generators make carbon monoxide gas, which can kill. Always use it outside in an open, dry space.

Why is pull start better than electric start?

Pull start needs no battery. This means there is nothing to go flat or replace. It starts even after it has stood unused for weeks.

What warranty do I get?

You get a 1-year Gentech warranty. You also get our 30-day return promise for extra peace of mind.
